Acceptance of scientific experiments

On July 19, 2022, in accordance with the schedule for the acceptance of experiments in the scientific units of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the NААS, the next acceptance of scientific experiments under PND 20 "Vegetable and Melon Growing" took place with the tasks:

20.00.01.06.F "Development of methodical approaches for the use of lines resistant to stress factors of the external environment and the creation of a tolerant heterosis cucumber hybrid with high adaptive capacity." Stage 2022. "Isolation of valuable genotypes of cucumber raw material based on valuable breeding traits and resistance and their inclusion in the breeding process" (Project Manager: Dr. Sci (Agr.), Senior Research Fellow SERHIENKO O.V.)

Laboratory breeders: L.D. Solodovnyk, L.O. Radchenko, researchers and a senior researcher, PhD (Agr.), Garbovska T.M., all the necessary stages of the breeding process for the creation of new competitive cucumber genotypes for open ground conditions were carried out. The 12 best hybrid combinations of the first generation and 5 lines with a set of valuable selection traits are highlighted. More than 1,000 crossings were carried out with the aim of obtaining new genotypes and breeding valuable forms for heterosis selection of cucumber for open ground conditions.

Bashtan N.O. PhD (Agr.), senior researcher and Miroshnichenko T.M.. PhD (Agr.) maintained a working in vitro collection of cultivated (7 samples), wild, semi-cultivated species (13 samples) and interspecies hybrids of tomato (26 samples), studied their morphological and biometric indicators. Addition of selective agents to the nutrient medium, such as FCRA. solani, NaCl and hydroxyproline, significantly influenced the growth and development of regenerating plants of the studied genotypes and made it possible to select resistant test tube clones.

20.00.01.16. P. "Identification of the biological properties and genetic potential of the raw material of shallots for the creation of early-ripening forms suitable for the generative method of reproduction." Stage 2022 "Evaluate the preservation of the original and breeding material of shallots and identify stable sources for breeding work. Evaluation and selection in the F2 generation based on a complex of economic traits" (Project Manager: PhD (Agr.) O.M. BILENKA).

Breeder, PhD (Agr.). Bylenka O.M. all the necessary stages of the selection process for the creation of new competiti ve early-ripening forms of shallots suitable for the generative method of reproduction have been carried out. As a result of the work, 85 breeding samples of shallots of hybrid origin were created. For use in breeding programs, 3 collection samples (Druzhok, D-137, D-196) with 75-77% preservation of bulbs (for 8 months) were selected. 2 precocious promising samples of hybrid origin were selected in the variety testing nursery with a duration of the growing season of 66-67 days, bulb yield of 19-21 t/ha, green onion yield of 4.5-5.0 kg/m2, bulb weight of 28-38 g.

The conclusion of the commission is to accept the research, the level of research performance is excellent.
