Certification training
At the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the NAAS of Ukraine from July 25 to 29, 2022, advanced training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical employees of institutions of higher education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and institutions of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine was held for the specialty 201 - "Agronomy" in the following areas:
- Methodology of vegetable and melon crops breeding, new methods of genetics and biotechnology in breeding, where the following issues were considered: methodological foundations of vegetable and melon crops breeding research, the formation of a bank of genetic resources, the use of genetics and biotechnology methods in breeding studies, the use of modern methods for assessing breeding genotypes on valuable breeding traits, the use of modern methods for analyzing qualitative and quantitative traits in the selection of vegetable and melon crops, ecological and genetic aspects of the selection of vegetable and melon plants and the issues of information support for scientific research;
– Scientific and methodological foundations of innovative technologies for the production of seeds and marketable products of vegetable and melon crops with the disclosure of the issues of an adaptive system for growing and biologization of the system of fertilizing vegetable crops, relevant aspects of seed production (non-transplanting and two-crop technology, growing organic seeds, etc.), new protection approaches, energy-saving ways of storing vegetable products, etc.
The students of advanced training courses were scientists and scientific and pedagogical workers from 11 institutions of the NAAS of Ukraine and institutions of higher education of Ukraine (National University of Bioresources and Nature Management, State Biotechnological University, Institute of Bioenergy Crops and Sugar Beet, National Scientific Center "Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry named after O.O. Sokolovsky», Institute of Oilseeds, OSB "Nogai College of TSATU", Dnepropetrovsk RS, Donetsk RS, RS "Mayak", PE "Arkas" and employees of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the NAAS). The courses acted as a scientific platform for the exchange of information on the results of research by breeders and vegetable growers in recent years, the exchange of views on the further development of the vegetable growing industry, and the involvement of scientific research results in educational programs in the profile.
Despite the difficult working conditions during the hostilities in our country, the scientists of the Institute selflessly and at a high methodological level continue scientific research that will become a springboard for ensuring food security in Ukraine and the world as a whole and share valuable experience with colleagues.
