The meeting of the Academic Council is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Institute's founding and Science Day

On May 19, the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine held a meeting of the Academic Council dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Institute's founding and Science Day, which this year is celebrated on May 21, 2022.
In this difficult time for Ukraine, VICTORY and the fastest RECOVERY and further PROSPERITY of our NATIVE COUNTRY depend on each of us. In this direction, the employees of the Institute do everything possible to most effectively solve the tasks and responsibilities assigned to them.
At the meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute, the director, Dr. Sci (Agr.) of Sciences Oleksandr KUTS recalled the historical milestones during the Institute's existence - since January 18, 1947, its achievements and assets, noted all the scientists who contributed to the development of agricultural science of Ukraine and those who now, in difficult times for the country, continue to multiply it scientific heritage. He emphasized that today the issue of food security is more relevant than ever in the time of military aggression by the aggressor country - the Russian Federation. It is the agricultural sector that should help create favorable conditions for the life and activities of the people of Ukraine and the entire peaceful population of the world.

At the meeting, the results of the team's scientific activities for 2021 were also summarized. The rating of the scientific activity of the Institute's divisions and scientific workers was determined, the results of which were reflected in the institution's order for Science Day 2022, as follows:

1. For high indicators of scientific activity in 2021 in the "Laboratory of the Year" nomination, the following divisions of the Institute were awarded certificates:
2. - the first place - the laboratory of selection of nightshade and pumpkin crops, the head is a PhD (Agr.) Krutko Roman;

•  second place:
•  - the laboratory of adaptive vegetable growing, storage and standardization, the head is a PhD (Agr.) Serhii Shcherbina;
•  -   laboratory of genetics, of genetic resources and biotechnology, the head is Dr. Sci (Agr.) of Sciences Ivchenko Tetyana;
• - third place - laboratory of innovation and investment development of the vegetable market and intellectual property, head - PhD (Agr.) Mohylyna Olena.

2. For significant personal achievements in the popularization of science in society and the creation of innovative scientific products, the following scientific employees were awarded diplomas:

- in the nomination "Scientist of the Year" - scientific secretary of Dr. Sci (Agr.) Oksana Sergienko;

- in the nomination "Writer of the Year" - senior researcher of the laboratory of adaptive vegetable growing, storage and standardization of the PhD (Agr.) Oleksiy Melnyk;

- in the nomination "Young Scientist of the Year" - junior researcher of the laboratory of selection of solanaceous and pumpkin crops - Linnik Zakhar.

At the end, the director of the Institute Oleksandr KUTS congratulated the team on the professional holiday, wished good health, determination, courage, stability, success and new scientific achievements and achievements in the name of UKRAINE and NATIVE SCIENCE!
