Meeting of the Coordination and Methodological Council of the National Academy of Agricaltural Sciences of the IOB NAAS

On April 4, 2023, the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the National Academy of Agricaltural Sciences of the NAAS, the main institution for the implementation of the Scientific Research Program of the National Academy of Agricaltural Sciences 20 "Vegetable and Melon Cultivation", held an online meeting of the Coordination and Methodological Council on consideration of the work programs of the tasks of scientific and research work for the 2023 stage in ZOOM conference format.

The meeting of the Coordination and Methodological Council was attended by scientists of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the NAAS and the network of its research stations: Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and RS "Mayak", representatives of the organization of co-implementers of PND 20: Institute of Horticulture of the NAAS, Institute of Climate-oriented Agriculture of the NAAS, Cherkasy State Agricultural Research Station NSC "Institute of Agriculture of the NAAS and the Transcarpathian State Agricultural Research Station of the NAAS, more than 40 scientists participated in the meeting.

The Coordination and Methodological Council was opened by the director of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, senior researcher Oleksandr KUTS. In his speech, he highlighted the problematic issues of the vegetable growing industry during the difficult wartime for the country and the role of national science in solving them.

Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Oksana Shabetya, chief scientist of the laboratory of selection of solanaceous and pumpkin crops, delivered the report "Problems of conservation of genetic resources of plants in Ukraine".

The issue of clarifying the composition of the Coordination and Methodological Council of PSR 20 "Vegetables and Melon Growing" was considered. 31 work programs of the 2023 stages of tasks included in the Scientific Research Program "Vegetable and Melon Growing" were reviewed and approved.
