XVIII annual conference "Vegetables and fruits of Ukraine - 2022"

On December 2, 2022, the XVIII annual conference "Vegetables and Fruits of Ukraine - 2022" was held in Kyiv, organized by the "APK-Inform: Vegetables and Fruits" project.

During the one-day conference, the main issues of today's fruit and vegetable sector of Ukraine were revealed. The market analysis section presented the forecast of the production and price situation for the spring of 2022, as well as the government support program for horticulture and greenhouse farms. World experience and Ukrainian realities, vertical farms and their phytosanitary risks, droneization of agriculture were discussed at the Hi-tech section. Also discussed were the problematic issues of using alternative energy sources in the agricultural sector and the peculiarities of fruit and vegetable processing in wartime conditions. The trade section discussed the integration of Ukraine into the EU pooling system, the import of borscht vegetables, the opening of new export markets, and the rating of domestic supermarket chains.

With a presentation on the topic "Analysis of the risks of the spread of diseases and pests in the organization of the production of fruit and vegetable products in vertical farms and ways to overcome them" at the conference, the head of the laboratory of genetics, genetic resources and biotechnology of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Dr. Sci (Agr.), Professor Tetyana Volodymyrivna Ivchenko.
