Participation in professional development courses

From June 12 to 16, 2023 (face-to-face and remotely in online mode), advanced training courses for scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers were held at the NSC "Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry named after O.N. Sokolovsky" in the direction of "Modern methods of soil surveys, obtaining and circulating information about soils in the context of European integration and new challenges of wartime".

The head of the laboratory of agrochemical research and product quality, candidate of agricultural sciences Mykhaylyn Volodymyr Igorevich and junior researcher Semenenko Svitlana Volodymyrivna improved their qualifications at the courses.

The training program included the following areas:

  • harmonization of soil names with the WRB system;
  • modern sources of obtaining remote sensing data for soil research;
  • multispectral space scanning data in the information provision of balanced agriculture;
  • applied aspects of using space survey data in agro-soil science;
  • modern methods of digital mapping of chernozem soils of Ukraine;
  • review of global and European soil databases;
  • the main stages of the development of soil databases as a prerequisite for the creation of soil information systems;
  • soil monitoring methods in Ukraine and European countries;
  • special types of soil surveys: of urbanized areas, forensic expert studies, agricultural decarbonization projects;
  • soil protection monitoring on intensive hydrocarbon extraction technologies;
  • harmonization of international and national methods of diagnosing saline soils;
  • modern survey methods and approaches to assessing the condition of irrigated lands in the context of European integration and today's challenges;
  • assessment of the qualitative state of arable soils of Ukraine according to physical indicators;
  • optimization of the main agrophysical parameters of the soil as a basis for increasing the productivity of agricultural crops in modern conditions;
  • study of directionality and modern rates of soil development in the Western Polissia;
  • phosphate regime of acidic soils of different degrees of hydromorphism: methods of determination, optimization measures;
  • factors of the development of erosion processes in the territories affected by military influence;
    soil magnetism as a tool of agronomic research;
