Internship at the Latvian University of Natural Sciences and Technologies
Т
he internship of our colleagues at the Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies (Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies) continues.
Work continues on the TEPV-173 project "Development of humate extraction technology from peat and organic waste" under the leadership of doctoral student Yuriy Syromyatnikov.
For the production of ecologically safe and organic products, various biological stimulators are used for the growth and development of plants, among which humic preparations play an important role. First of all, they stimulat
e metabolism and strengthen the adaptive properties of plants.
Researcher Tetyana Garbovska is conducting part of the research on the use of innovative humic preparations for growing tomatoes under controlled conditions. She carried out variety selection, seed processing (rejection; disinfection; hardening), preparation of seedlings, planting, plant care, conducting experiments. The tasks of the research included establishing the optimal composition of solutions for the system of foliar feeding of tomatoes; research on the influence of biological humic growth stimulants on the growth and yield of the crop; determination of biometric and biochemical characteristics of plants; identification of the most effective combination and dose of humic preparations.
At this stage of work (August 4, 2023), yield analysis is being carried out.
