In September 2022, on the initiative of the National University of Food Technologies - Rector Oleksandr Shevchenko and the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine - Academician Volodymyr Khareba, Professor Olena Khareba, a Memorandum on cooperation in the field of science and education was prepared.
A memorandum of cooperation was concluded between the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the National Academy of Sciences, represented by Director Oleksandr Kuts, and the National University of Food Technologies, represented by Rector Oleksandr Shevchenko, with the aim of developing research work in the field of educational, methodological, scientific, practical and educational activities; professional development of scientific and pedagogical personnel; conducting joint educational and methodological, scientific and scientific-practical conferences, seminars, meetings, workshops.
On the basis of modern methods of genetics, immunity, biotechnology and molecular biology, the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is engaged in the creation of competitive varieties and hybrids of vegetable and melon crops for open and closed soils, resistant to pests, diseases and abiotic factors; development and improvement of technologies for their cultivation and seed production; formation of a genetic bank of sources of vegetable and melon plants.
