Working meeting with specialists from the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Kharkiv region

On August 5, 2026, a working meeting was held between representatives of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine O.V. Melnуk, Head of the Department of Advanced Technologies for Growing Vegetables and Melons, O.O. Chaіuk, Head of the Department of Scientific Personnel, Graduate Studies, and Legal Support with stakeholders and specialists from the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Kharkiv region: S.O. Karpushуn and N.V. Oleіnуkova, chief specialists of the Plant Quarantine Department of the Phytosanitary Safety Directorate.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the phytosanitary situation regarding agricultural crops in the Kharkiv region, particularly concerning the spread of quarantine pests within the region and measures to monitor their spread.

In addition, the meeting addressed the training of specialists with a third-level higher education degree, the alignment of the “Agronomy” educational and research program with current labor market demands, and prospects for cooperation between research institutions and government agencies.
