Acceptance of experiments

On July 14, 2023, in accordance with the schedule for the acceptance of experiments in the scientific divisions of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences in 2023, the next acceptance of scientific experiments under PND 20 "Vegetable and Melon Growing" was held with the tasks:

20.00.01.06.F "Development of methodical approaches for the use of lines resistant to stress factors of the external environment and the creation of a tolerant heterosis cucumber hybrid with high adaptive capacity" Stage 2023 "Selection of parental forms and F1 hybrids of cucumber according to the manifestation of heterosis and their reproduction." The task is carried out under the guidance of the breeder, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, senior researcher Oksana Volodymyrivna Sergienko. Laboratory breeders: L.D. Solodovnyk, L.O. Radchenko, scientific staff all the necessary stages of the breeding process for the creation of new competitive cucumber genotypes for protected and open soil conditions were carried out. A comprehensive evaluation of the breeding material was carried out according to a set of economic and valuable traits: early maturity, gynoeciousness, productivity during the first decade of fruiting, resistance to biotic and abiotic factors of the external environment. 9 best hybrid combinations of the first generation and 5 lines with a set of valuable selection traits are highlighted. More than 1,000 crossings were conducted with the aim of obtaining new genotypes and breeding valuable forms for heterosis selection of cucumber for open ground conditions. Valuable genotypes are propagated in isolated plots.

"Identification of the biological properties and genetic potential of the raw material of shallots for the creation of early-ripening forms suitable for the generative method of reproduction" Stage 2023 "Competitive testing of promising samples of shallots and transfer of a new variety to the state variety testing. Generative propagation of the best shallot hybrids (F3). The task is carried out under the guidance of breeder, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences Bilenkoya Olga Mykolaivna. The breeders of the laboratory carried out all the necessary stages of the selection process to create new competitive early-ripening forms of shallots that are suitable for the generative method of reproduction. In the course of research, the following were selected according to preservation: in the nursery of clones - 2 samples D-175/1 (76.5%) and D-146 (74.8%), which exceeded the standard Lira variety by 37.6% and 35.9% respectively, in the collection nursery there are 4 samples - D-137, D-195, D-115 and D-191 with preservation of 85.2-92.1%, number of diseased bulbs and natural weight loss of 10% or less (for 7 months of storage ). In the shallot variety test nursery, a prematurely ripened form of hybrid origin D-169 was selected, which exceeded the standard variety Lira in terms of yield of green leaves by 36.4% (5.7 kg/m2) and will be submitted for qualification examination in 2023.

Mohylna, of the laboratory of adaptive vegetable growing, storage and standardization, O.V. Melnyk the high scientific and methodological level of the fulfillment of scientific research tasks was noted, their full compliance with the Technical Task for 2023, for the entire period and the Work Program for 2023, their indisputable practical significance and available scientific development were established. The conclusion of the commission is to accept the research, the level of research performance is excellent.
