Conducting Experiments

On August 13, 2026, in accordance with the 2026 schedule for the review of research projects at the scientific departments of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the NАAS, a review of research projects under Research Program 23, «Vegetable and Melon Growing,» took place in accordance with the following task:

Research conducted in unheated glass greenhouses.

Graduate Research Project: Development of Organic Tomato Cultivation Techniques for the Left-Bank Forest-Steppe Region of Ukraine. Graduate Student – E.L. Chumak

The research is being conducted according to an individual research plan. Field studies will be completed in 2026.

Laboratory of Seed Science and Seed Production for Vegetable and Melon Crops.

23.00.02.01F Seed Production of Vegetable Crops under Conditions of Increasing Aridity.

Phase 2026: Determination of parameters of seed-bearing plants of vegetable crops under various technological measures for moisture conservation and accumulation.

Project Leader: O.V. Soldatenko.

Project Executor: M.V. Hurin presented experiments on cucumber seed production and provided information regarding their compliance with the work program. The research is being conducted in accordance with the technical specifications and the schedule. The experiments are set up on a breeding crop rotation. Information was presented for compiling a database of biometric, varietal, and yield parameters of vegetable seed plants to develop approaches for vegetable seed production under conditions of increasing aridity.

The Experiment Acceptance Commission, consisting of: Director, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor O.I. Alforov; Deputy Director for Scientific Work, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher O.V. Serhіienko; and Scientific Secretary, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher O.M. Shabetіа, Head of the Laboratory of Genetics, Genetic Resources, and Biotechnology; Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor T.V. Ivchenko, Head of the Department of New Technologies for Growing Vegetable and Melon Growing, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher O.V. Melnyk, Head of the Department of Scientific Personnel, Graduate Studies, and Legal Support, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, and O.O. Chaіuk, assessed the condition of the crops and compliance with the research methodology.

The commission’s conclusion: the experiments are accepted.
