Acceptance of experiments

On June 4, 2026, in accordance with the 2026 schedule for the acceptance of research projects at the scientific departments of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAS), the acceptance of research projects under Research Area 23 «Vegetable and Melon Growing» took place, specifically for the following task:

23.00.02.01 P Optimization of elements of adaptive technology for growing garlic subspecies for food and seed purposes under conditions of climate change.

2026 Phase: Creation of an information database on the formation of garlic’s adaptive potential to climate change.

Project Leader Oleksii MELNYK and Senior Researcher Oleksandr VITANOV presented the experiments and provided information on their alignment with the work plan. The research is being conducted in accordance with the technical specifications and the schedule. Experiments were presented on the impact of cultivation techniques on the growth and development of winter and spring garlic plants.

The Experiment Acceptance Committee, consisting of: Acting Director, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor O.I. Alforov; Deputy Director for Scientific Work, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher O.V. Serhiienko; and Scientific Secretary, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher O.M. Shabetia; Head of the Laboratory of Genetics, Genetic Resources, and Biotechnology, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor T.V. Ivchenko; Head of the Breeding Department, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher S.I. Kondratenko, Head of the Laboratory of Innovative and Investment Development of the Vegetable Market and Intellectual Property, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher  L.A. Terokhina assessed the condition of the crops and compliance with the research methodology. During an active discussion, a range of problematic issues and ways to resolve them were identified.

Commission’s conclusion: the experiments are accepted.
