Congratulations on Agricultural Workers' Day

On the third Sunday of November, Ukraine celebrates Agricultural Workers' Day. This holiday is the state's recognition of the victorious work of farmers for the benefit of Ukraine, a tribute to the calloused hands of peasants who know the true value of bread!

Despite the difficult realities of martial law, scientists and employees of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences not only harvested the crops, but also ensured the sowing of vegetable and melon crops for next year's harvest, paid taxes, and provided assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On November 13, 2025, a solemn meeting of the Academic Council of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the NAAS was held on the occasion of the Day of Agricultural Workers.

The director of the institute, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Oleksiy ALFYOROV, congratulated the staff of the institute on the holiday and presented awards.

• Serhii Ivanovych Kondratenko, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher, Head of the Department of Vegetable and Melon Breeding and Seed Production, was awarded an honorary diploma from the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.
• The District Military Administration awarded the following employees of the institute:

    Oleksiy Volodymyrovych Melnyk, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher, Head of the Department of New Technologies for Growing Vegetables and Melons;

       Oksana Mykolayivna Shabetia, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher, Scientific Secretary;

       Vladislav Borysovych Bashtan, Researcher at the Laboratory of Seed Science and Seed Production of Vegetable and Melon Crops;
